Pharmacist on inpatient service starting 10/22

Lauren Biehle is a pharmacist that used to work at Rose and do education for the residents, as well as, teaching pharmacist students. When Rose’s program closed, we took her on to our program. She is going to start on the in-patient service Monday 10/22. She is not a hospital pharmacist through Centura, she is more for resident and student education.

 

We are hoping to integrate her and her students into the inpatient medicine service as follows. She will be available Mon-Wed mornings. She will come around during/after sign-out to look at the patient list and cases that would be good for teaching. Wed mornings, we would like to do pharmacist morning teaching (5-10min), instead of night float senior. She has a strong interest in antibiotics and anticoagulants. She may also join us in our group bedside rounds for patients that would be good for pharmacy education.

 

In Jan, she will have 2 students and we thought about integrating one to each team for group bedside rounds as well to be a resource.
