April Clinic Updates – the long and short of it:

 

 

Colorado Heart and Vascular Referrals  – We should refer patients with “vascular” issues as well as cardiac, see attachment for details.

 

Patients referred for OMT – Choose the right patients to refer -  If touching a patient causes severe pain, then they are probably not a good candidate for OMT.

 

Medicaid is now covering Cologuard for colon cancer screening! Can place the order in Epic.  Kit is delivered to pt, result good for 3 years

 

Press Ganey changes - Texting of surveys to patients starts in May sometime – Patients will need phone number in cell phone field to receive the text

 

Changes in quality reporting – There is a drop in mammo numbers in Feb/March for all pods related to reporting issue which has been fixed

Mammogram orders were counting as completed mammograms and some older mammo results were counted

Good news - Mammos done in the two years before age 50 now pull through to show pts are up to date (not happening previously)

 

MA incentives have started - your MA will get a quarterly bonus if we meet our quality measures!

 

Don’t “Borrow” sterilized equipment from 144th clinic- Please don't take sterilized procedure equipment from the clinic unless it's an emergency. If you must take it, please bring it back.  If you use it elsewhere in the hospital we never see it again unless you bring it back.

 

Inbox Coverage when you are gone - Make sure you have someone lined up to check both electronic and paper boxes when you are gone.  Please communicate who is covering for you to your clinic MA team.

RE: September Book Club 9/10
