Interpreter Phone update -

New Service Available! Language Line Solutions has audio/video interpretation with a much faster connection time.


Use instructions below: 

 

The extension is 84002 and the phone number is 1.833.319.0428.

Provide your first and last name and the patient's MRN.


For Video, instruction attached to set up. Can be used on laptops or any device w microphone/speaker  https://insight.languageline.com/   App available for cell phones too!

Language Carts will be coming in the future

 

Best practices for using interpretation:

  • Utilize Epic: Ensure it always displays patient's preferred language 
  • ALWAYS offer interpeter to patients
  • Hopefully these new phones will help streamline interpretation
  • Make all commonly used documents readily available in the 4 most common languages represented at 84th  
  • Dr. Harmann -- Will be helping with Spanish translation

Reminder to cover your inbox or designate someone to cover

Send coverage list to Alberta to put in EZ call

For providers on longer leaves, MAs can distribute paperwork to other providers physically in clinic

Epic messages:

-Good feedback: Providers have been getting less inappropriate messages. Thank you to everyone who's been scheduling patients for appointments right away. 

-Shout out to Teresa, Connie, and Chanel! -- Thanks for the closed loop communication with your messages! We appreciate you. 


Patient Portal:

-Really encourage patient to sign up for the portal! --> Will make communicating normal results and patients can now schedule electronically.  


Mammogram Results:

-We do NOT need to communicate screening mammogram results to patients. They have a letter sent. --> You can check the media tab to confirm a letter was sent. Diagnostic mammogram results are given to patient at time of study. 


Integrated Care Team

Letters are sent out to MAs each day to designate who from the team is available. 

We will work on getting a white board in clinic that designates who is on-site any given day.


Remember, we now have integrated health team members IN-PERSON everyday now. You can talk to them in-person, rather than send Epic messages.
