Covid vaccine status - new vital sign!

MA's- When rooming patients -  please ask Covid vaccine status for all patients 12 and older, update in Epic.  Making this a standard question improves vaccine rates, saves time down the line

 

Updates for respiratory season:

PCR and Abbott ID Rapid Testing  - Covid, Strep, Flu - status and process in your pod

 

Vaccines: COVID and flu  - updates on availability and process in your pod

COVID Vaccine at 144th and 84th - Order in Epic! Give during clinic hours! Every day! Observe pt for 15 minutes after vaccine, can be in waiting room.  Schedule for 2nd dose 21 days later before they leave. 3rd dose 28 days after 2nd dose if indicated per CDC. 

Booster dose 8 months after 2nd dose of Moderna or Pfizer starting 9/20/21.

Flu shot shipments coming in September.  OK to give Covid and flu vaccines at the same time

 

Vaccine Exemption Letters - Some patients calling about this.  Our office is following CDC guidelines, limiting these to patients with anaphylactic or immediate (within 4 hours) allergic reactions to Covid vaccine.  Should wait 90 days if they were treated for Covid with antibodies.

 

Longer term strategy for respiratory pts: 3 visit types - virtual, in-person, and drive up.

144th clinic is piloting drive-up visits

What is the best process for in-person visits for respiratory patients in your pod?
